A Barbecue House in Shoreditch

One of the forerunners of London’s Vietnamese food movement, founder Hieu arrived in London from Vietnam in 1999, and, after struggling to find authentic Vietnamese restaurants, opened Viet Grill in 2006. You’ll find us on Shoreditch’s bustling Kingsland Road, also known as London’s ‘Phở mile’, dishing up delicious Vietnamese barbecue.

Our Signature Dishes

The smoky scent of barbecue fills the air from mid-morning in Vietnam, as street traders fire up their grills for a busy day’s trading. We pay homage to the traditions of authentic Vietnamese barbecue with dishes such as crisp Lang Son-style pork in a lemongrass and galangal marinade, and grilled chicken on lip-tingling mac khen pepper.

Our Ingredients

We use the very best produce we can find, from delicious Irish beef to fresh herbs grown on selected farms in Vietnam and flown over especially for us. Our barbecue dishes are centred around impeccably sourced meat and fish, carefully grilled and served with salads and dipping sauces that balance freshness, lightness and acidity.

Our Restaurant

You’ll find Viet Grill on Shoreditch’s famous ‘phở mile’, a stone’s throw from both Hoxton and Old Street. Escape the hustle and bustle of London’s stylish East End and relax over smoky barbecue dishes hot from the grill, surrounded by palm-patterned wallpaper and dark mahogany accents.

You can also join us for a bowl of classic phở at Cay Tre, or head to Kêu for authentic bánh mì — we look forward to welcoming you soon.
